CAPIT's staff provides classroom education to 1,500 students annually. They also offer assessments, referrals and counseling to 2,000 students and families along with staff development and policy development to more than 50 schools.

Library Services Department has coordinated the second year of a consortial purchase of e-books for our schools. 69 schools in the Capital Region have chosen to participate. Our first collection was purchased in the 2008-2009 school year. This year, for the 2009-2010, schools have added an additional $10,000 worth of books to their electronic resources collection for just $2000 per building. As this collection grows, students are finding that they have access to over 80 reliable, up-to-date reference books (all online!) that are aligned to NYS learning standards and available to them 24/7 – both at school and at home.

Why an Intranet for SSS?

The SSS Intranet was launched to streamline the sharing of information that is common to staff in our division. Whether you are looking for a particular form or have a question about hiring or budget protocols -- you can now look to the SSS Staff Intranet! Special thanks to Maryann Osborn, Vicky Schweizer, and Heather Faubert for their help in managing this information, and to Bonnie Minick and Ken Petersen for the design and launch of this great new resource for our division!
